About Me & Career Pathway

I’m one of the UK’s leading experts on later life. I founded Lottie in 2021 after struggling to find care for a loved one. My goal is to create a technology platform that helps millions of older adults lead happier and healthier lives while revolutionising the eldercare sector.

At Lottie, I’ve helped hundreds of care seekers find their dream care option.

Seniorcare by Lottie was developed on the Lottie platform and is now the UK’s leading eldercare employee benefit. It provides support to employees who are juggling unpaid care and full-time work.

Lottie also acquired Found in 2022, which helps care providers such as care homes deliver a fantastic service to their residents, by making it easier to manage enquiries, occupancy, billing and more.

Before founding Lottie, I spent over five years advising the UK’s leading care and retirement operators. During this time, I advised on corporate and real estate transactions within the health and social care sectors.

I was also part of the property team that helped the NHS throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Topics of Expertise

Having founded Lottie, I’ve been recognised as an influential figure within care. I’ve been featured in publications such as The Times and The Telegraph, where I discuss topics such as picking the perfect care home and how Lottie is revolutionising the care and retirement sector.

I was also featured in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Europe 2024 for Science and Healthcare.

About Me & Career Pathway

I joined Lottie as a Care Expert in December 2021, before becoming a Care Expert Manager in September 2022. Our team is knowledgeable in all aspects of elderly care and helps care seekers find care for themselves or their loved ones.

As Lottie's Lead Care Expert, I work closely with families each day to understand their unique elderly care needs and preferences. My role involves guiding families and care seekers from the initial consultation through to the start of care, ensuring a smooth and supportive experience. We specialise in matching care seekers with the right care homes or home care services, considering their specific health requirements, such as round-the-clock nursing care and dementia care, as well as personal preferences like homes with gardens or those that accommodate couples.

In November 2023, I became the Senior Customer Care Manager of Lottie’s Care Expert team, before becoming the Customer Care Lead in November 2024. In this capacity, I oversee all team operations across Lottie and Seniorcare By Lottie, our eldercare employee benefits service. My experience and qualifications in health and social care, alongside my expertise in the elder care space, allow me to help families find the best care for their needs.

Qualifications, Certifications and Topics of Expertise

As an expert in care, I’ve been covered in leading publications such as The Daily Mirror, Hello! and Yahoo Life UK, talking about relevant topics such as Alzheimer’s disease and dementia care, menopause and the challenges of juggling work responsibilities and elder care.

About Me & Career Pathway

I joined the Care Expert team in August 2022. My main responsibility as a Care Expert is supporting care seekers in finding the most suitable care options for themselves or their loved ones, including the best care homes and home care agencies. I use my comprehensive knowledge across all aspects of elderly care to provide personalised and informed guidance.

Building meaningful relationships with care seekers is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role as a Care Expert. I take great pleasure in getting to know care seekers personally, understanding their stories, and forming connections that allow me to provide compassionate support. Helping families navigate through often challenging and emotional situations is incredibly fulfilling. Many of us will have a family member who requires care at some point in our lives, so I find easing this process for others really rewarding.

My goal is to ensure that every care seeker feels supported and confident in their decisions, leading to better care outcomes and greater peace of mind for their families.

I also help employees find care solutions through Seniorcare By Lottie, a service for people who are juggling paid work and unpaid caring responsibilities.

Home Care Experience

I previously worked as a domiciliary care assistant for Bluebird Care. Domiciliary carers provide care and support to people in their own homes so they can remain independent.

At Bluebird Care, I carried out various duties, including:

  • Personal care - Assisting people with getting dressed and undressed, getting in and out of bed, and using the bathroom
  • Medication support - Helping the people I supported take prescribed medications safely and on time
  • Transportation - Providing transport to and from medical and other essential appointments
  • Running errands - Helping with errands such as shopping, to support with daily living
  • Companionship - Offering emotional support and companionship care to enhance the quality of life for the people I looked after

About Me & Career Pathway

I joined the Care Expert team in September 2022. As a Care Expert, I help care seekers find the ideal care homes and home care agencies for themselves or their loved ones. This involves a thorough understanding of each individual's needs, preferences, and circumstances, allowing me to provide tailored recommendations that ensure the best possible care solutions.

Similarly, through Seniorcare by Lottie, I help employees juggling paid work and unpaid care responsibilities find the right care solution for their loved ones.

At Lottie, our team of Care Experts has a comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of elderly care, including different types of care, care funding, and regulatory standards. We use this information to guide care seekers through the often complex decision-making process so they can make informed and confident choices about their care.

My role also involves providing ongoing support and advice throughout a care seeker’s journey, including answering any questions, helping them navigate the various stages of securing care, and providing reassurance and clarity during what can be a stressful and emotional time.

My goal is to ensure that every care seeker feels supported, understood, and confident in their decisions, giving peace of mind to everyone involved.

Care Home Experience

I previously worked in social services and was a healthcare assistant at an ‘Outstanding’ CQC-rated residential care home for almost four years, so I understand exactly how a care home operates.

At this home, I provided person-centred care to every resident, including compassionate end-of-life care to residents nearing the end of their lives. I ensured every resident’s needs were met and they were looked after with the dignity and respect they deserved.

The care I provided on a daily basis included support with:

  • Washing - Support with personal hygiene tasks such as showering, bathing or other types of cleaning
  • Dressing - Helping people get dressed and undressed, often when getting in and out of bed
  • Moving and handling - Helping residents get in and out of bed and get from one place to another. Also, regularly moving people while in bed, to avoid uncomfortable bed sores
  • Eating and drinking - Assistance with eating meals, particularly at mealtimes, and taking on fluids
  • Specialist dementia support - Using specialist techniques to look after people living with dementia, including those who experienced challenging behavioural episodes

I have first-hand experience with dementia care, nursing care and residential care.
