Located in Egham town centre, Rivermede Court provides residential and short-stay care, as well as a specialist dementia care unit, creating a true ‘home away from home’ experience. Manager Libby Barrett heads up the team, whose dedication and hard work earned them a fantastic 9.9 rating from carehome.co.uk.
Facilities include cinema rooms, hair and beauty salon and café-bar, as well as lounges and dining rooms to kick back and relax in during down time. Given that in our recent UK-wide Care Seekers Survey, 72% of respondents wanted a dining area and 43% of respondents requested a hair and beauty salon, Rivermede ticks all the boxes. When you add to this the dedicated team of staff who put their all into organising fun activities and events to suit every individual’s interests, as well as regular outing and excursions, you’ll surely never be bored at Rivermede.

Norfolk House in Weybridge offers personalised residential care, short-term respite care, nursing care and specialist dementia care, including those with physical disabilities. Norfolk House also provides compassionate end of life care, knowing how important it is to treat this in a sensitive and respectful manner, allowing families to spend quality time with their loved one.
The team here are led by manager Sabu Prothasis and actively encourage residents to continue enjoying the hobbies they always loved, discover new interests, or build new friendships through regular group activity. For this reason, the home was awarded a “Good” rating from Care Quality Commission.

Next on our list we’re moving to Lightwater in Surrey to see the renowned Lakeview care home. Part of the Hallmark Care Homes group, Lakeview boasts a beautifully designed building, as well as a high standard of residential and dementia care. In fact, the home redesigned certain areas of the home to accommodate the cognitive changes that residents may experience with dementia, including a dementia garden: a haven for residents to explore plant life and watch the birds.
Residents here are encouraged to live full and vibrant lives by cooking, helping to tend the gardens and take part in activities organised by the lifestyle team. Interestingly, gardening and flower arranging was selected as a preferred activity by 45% of respondents in our Care Seekers Survey, closely followed by cooking and baking activities at 44%, meaning there will surely never be a dull moment at Lakeview.
