Hear From The Joy Club’s Members

Below, some of The Joy Club’s members have shared their glowing reviews about the community and the opportunities it’s provided for them:

Helen

“Now I realise that retirement is MY time; a time to try new things, ask questions, get creative and learn to play and have fun again. The Joy Club has inspired me to start a new stage of my life. I’ve now taken up art classes, and started a language degree. Didn’t see that coming!”

Elizabeth

“The Joy Club leads to confidence-building at an age that you least expect it - I feel like there are more possibilities. It’s not a closed door because you’re retired - there are opportunities to do so much more. I have that energy and desire to give something back now.”

Peter

“Great range of sessions, easy to book and join! The quality of tuition has been high - Yoga and Tai Chi provided clear instruction and were pleasantly challenging. The History of Zoo design (a bit left field) was fascinating all the way through with an opportunity to ask questions at the end. So far so good - more booked sessions planned!”

Kathy

“The Joy Club has given me a focus in a way that I really needed at this stage in my life. It's been lovely - I've developed relationships with younger people and older people that I wouldn't have in any other way. It's given me the confidence to carry on doing what I want to do. It's really been very inspiring to me.”

Brenda

“Everyone at The Joy Club is, indeed, a joy! The facilitators, tutors, speakers, other Joy Club members make it all worthwhile - encouraging, good-humoured, thought-provoking, kind. I feel I ‘click’ with the approach and attitude of the Club, and enjoy what's on offer. All in all, I regard my membership of The Joy Club to have been one of the most positive things I have done.”
