Facilities at Glennie House include 52 ensuite bedrooms, an activity room, dining rooms and lounges, a coffee shop, a relatives room, a hair salon and a garden. The friendly and helpful staff are always on-hand to help with residents’ every need and encourage them to have fun by joining in with the home’s activities programme. Although Glennie House is set in beautiful natural countryside, towns like Cumnoc are just a short drive away and there is a railway station just two minutes from the home.
Types of Elderly Care*
Individuals with low care needs, who are either fully independent or require minimal assistance with personal care and day-to-day tasks. Residential care usually includes support with tasks like: dressing, washing, taking oral medication and hoisting.
Individuals that have been diagnosed with dementia and are no longer able to live independently at home due to requiring specialist 24-hour care services.
Individuals who require 24-hour assistance and care from qualified nurses due to medical conditions and/or personal living needs. This may include people that require intensive rehabilitative care following a stroke, or simply need support using a peg feeding tube.
Individuals that require a temporary living arrangement at a care home. Respite is also referred to as a short care home stay and may range from a few days to a couple weeks.
