The Moors is a purpose-built, modern care home located on Harrogate Road on the outskirts of Ripon and provides a variety of care services, including residential, nursing, dementia, palliative, respite and day care. The home has 70 ensuite bedrooms and is spread across three floors, each of which has a dining room, main lounge and two quiet lounges. The impressive range of facilities includes a café, cinema room, piano room, library, computer room, beauty salon, activities room and a large secure garden. The Moors has excellent public transport links, with a bus stop just a short walk from the home and an on-site car park for visitors.
Types of Elderly Care*
Individuals with low care needs, who are either fully independent or require minimal assistance with personal care and day-to-day tasks. Residential care usually includes support with tasks like: dressing, washing, taking oral medication and hoisting.
Individuals that have been diagnosed with dementia and are no longer able to live independently at home due to requiring specialist 24-hour care services.
Individuals who require 24-hour assistance and care from qualified nurses due to medical conditions and/or personal living needs. This may include people that require intensive rehabilitative care following a stroke, or simply need support using a peg feeding tube.
Individuals that require a temporary living arrangement at a care home. Respite is also referred to as a short care home stay and may range from a few days to a couple weeks.
