Overview

Nestled in a tranquil corner of Rochester, Rochester Care Home provides expert residential and dementia care to its local community. Its purpose-built, single-storey design encompasses four distinct areas, each featuring 14 bedrooms surrounding a cozy lounge/diner. The home prioritises social activities tailored to residents' individual lifestyles, offering a blend of relaxation and engagement. Popular animal therapy sessions, including visits from therapy dogs and larger four-legged friends, bring joy to residents' days. Sunny afternoons beckon residents to the garden, where they can enjoy an ice cream and share cuddles with Shetland ponies or donkeys. Thanks to the neighbouring Napier Day Centre's minibus, part of the Agincare group, residents enjoy outings to the garden centre and occasional pub visits, ensuring a vibrant and fulfilling lifestyle.

What people say about Rochester

Highlighting top-rated reviews

I gave Rochester care home a 5 star review, as I can honestly say that the staff are all extremely considerate and caring towards the residents. Since volunteering with Anne their activity co-ordinator, everyone has been kind towards me and help given me guidance. The way in which the staff interact with the residents is truly inspiring and heartfelt to watch, they go and above and beyond for the residents. It has been a pleasure volunteering here, and a great experience! Thank you Rochester care home!

A huge thank you to Irene and all the amazing staff at Rochester Care Home - our lovely Barbara has positively thrived since she moved in 7 months ago - and to both her own relief, and ours, she feels totally cared for, and safe - her words.

I wish to write to congratulate the owners/ trustees of Rochester Care Home on their achievement in producing a care home with an environment that deserves an Award for Excellence and that should 'set an example' to all other residential homes in the area. I have recently visited many care homes in the Medway area and have been appalled at the lack of effort made by the managers to improve the surroundings. It was refreshing to enter Rochester and find welcoming and elegant surroundings which meet my expectations as to what a care home should be - a luxury hotel 'feel' had been accomplished and it was spotlessly clean. Staff were incredibly smart in their appearance, efficient and constantly talking to and attending to residents. The staff appeared very happy in their work and continually had an 'upbeat' manner which must be very difficult to sustain, surrounded by sombre residents. The walls were lined with paintings/pictures instead of 'scrappy' posters. This is just one example of how improvements can be made that make an exceptional difference at probably little cost, but require a manager that will 'go the extra mile' and take the time, thought and effort. Finally, I was relieved to find a care home where each resident was treated as a personal friend, even those residents being admitted that had not yet been introduced, and find fabulous support given to the families at this difficult time.
