What people say about Moorlands

Highlighting top-rated reviews

Moorlands has implemented improvements this year. Amanda and Remi took on challenging roles which they have taken in their stride with a smile and their kind natures. They have an open door policy and always welcome input and do their best to resolve any concerns. Special mention of thanks to Camille and Diana they are so caring and patient with my mum. It has been difficult for me to leave mum in the care of others but knowing that all staff do their best and are caring is reassuring.

My husband went to Moorlands 11 months ago. It’s probably been one of the hardest things I’ve had to do. It was a very difficult time for both of us adjusting to a new environment and our new life. The staff were very welcoming but I still didn’t feel it’s what I wanted for my husband. However with ALL the staffs help , they made my husband feel at home as best they could and they were very supportive of me as I struggled to cope with the change. We are nearly a year there now and I can honestly say that a homely atmosphere awaits residents and their families. The home may be dated but a lot of changes have been made in enhancing the lounges and dining areas. The meals are good and it is kept very clean . Activities can be variable but music plays a big part in their entertainment which is always enjoyed by residents and visitors. The garden at side of house is pleasant to sit in . I have nursed all my life and I know how difficult it can be to care for people , sometimes with little acknowledgment of the struggle staff may have . I would like to thank them all at Moorlands , I know you all do your very best , thank you for allowing me to spend quality time as a wife not a carer in our twilight years

The staff are fantastic and really try hard and go the extra mile but the problem is that there are not enough staff so we often find residents alone in the lounge area. Saturdays are the worst for residents being left alone for long periods.
