My mother has been a resident at The Old Rectory for a couple of years and in that time I've been impressed with a number of aspects of the home. There is a low staff turnover which indicates that they are happy and Mum has built up a relationship with them. They're incredibly patient with her (she has dementia). The home is very clean and the food home-cooked. It has been well-managed by the previous manager and continues to be with the new one. The staff are friendly and welcoming to residents' family members and make sure that Mum is comfortable and in the best place for our visits. We placed our mother here after a very disappointing and negative stay elsewhere and we've had no such issues here at all. Highly recommended.

Moving my mother in to a care home was an extremely difficult decision. But, with her advancing dementia, it became impossible & too risky to care for her at home. She’s now been at The Old Rectory (TOR) for over a year & I have total confidence in the excellent care & surroundings, with top priority given to her health and wellbeing. The carers are all superb, without exception, and what is so reassuring, is that the vast majority stay at TOR for many years, meaning that residents get to know their carers well & they in turn understand residents’ individual needs. For relatives too, it is reassuring to speak with carers & staff that we get to know. My mother enjoys the freshly made meals which are tailored specifically to her, homemade soups being a particular favourite! She has a beautiful, homely room & the staff at TOR have created a cosy, comfortable & welcoming home which is always spotlessly clean. TOR is a caring, friendly community that you can trust. I am able to visit Mum as frequently as I wish, take her into the gardens or out to church or the coast. I highly recommend this care home. Its care & support is outstanding. Thank you.

Highly recommend The Old Rectory care home…the support and care that my mum receives from all of the staff is excellent. It can be such a worrying time finding the right care home for a loved one but I knew as soon as I visited The Old Rectory ( I visited several care homes ) and met the management team this was the right place for my mum. It is spotlessly clean with nice rooms lounge and dining areas, even outside patio and garden. There is always some sort of entertainment/activities for the residents scheduled for most days. Individual requirements can be met, all of the staff are so caring and kind. My mum is 98 years old and from day one she has been very happy here..which makes me happy.

Our Mum had lived in Dymchurch for over 40 years before mobility issues demanded that she move into a residential care home. The Old Rectory was an answer to her prayers on so many levels. It is local, has a tranquil setting yet close to the main road; so her friends could visit her easily as they passed by and, as a result, she never felt isolated. Her room was homely, spacious and welcoming and kept impeccably with the freedom to adapt it to her wishes. The members of staff could not have been more friendly, and she was exceedingly fond of them. They were also always alert to our Mum’s welfare- calling in medical assistance early to help avoid her health issues exacerbating. This, along with their excellent security procedures, gave us peace of mind that Mum was living in a loving and safe environment. What could have been a final, difficult period of her life was, in contrast, one of affection and contentment. We cannot thank or recommend The Old Rectory enough.

My Mother-in-Law is a resident at The Old Rectory, she has been there for about 20 months. We moved her there from another care home to be closer to us and to be frank we thought she was in her last months as she had become so frail and lost interest in life. Within 4 months of the move she was a new woman. The care and stimulation give by the owners and carers is spectacular. Events, visiting performers and fitness just a few things they do. It is a family owned and run business and it's all about the residents. They have regular meetings to ask what they want and how things should be. I can't thank Janet and her team enough. I have just attended the 2nd Christmas meal with them - a trip out to a local restaurant - and hope to share many more. When I first visited with a view to the move I asked one of the residents if it was like living in a hotel and she replied "No hotel would take care of you like they do here" that was enough for me. We have to ring before we visit just in case she is busy! 10/10
