Barchester Healthcare Leeming Bar Grange Care Home

Our 88 year old brother has been a resident of Leeming Bar Grange Care Home since august 2024. Albert (Bert) is very settled in the home and although he has dementia he obviously feels safe and secure there. This is a real comfort for us and has taken a lot of worry and stress away regarding Bert. The home is very friendly and the staff are all really caring about their duties, with lots of activities for residents who are willing and able to participate. the food is of a high quality with tea, coffee and snacks available mid mornings and afternoons.

My 93-year old mother wishes to live in a care home and so having read the reviews for Leeming Bar Grange we decided to book a visit. First impressions were that it was very clean, well looked after and welcoming. The staff were so friendly and welcoming we immediately felt at home. There are many activities for the residents both inside and outside the home. All rooms were nicely presented and really did cater for everyone’s needs. Leeming Grange have their own transport and organise, for example, trips to the seaside for fish and chips as well as visiting local attractions. There’s something for everyone such as crafting, choirs visiting, church on Sunday and so much more.

What an amazing place! My mum has been there nearly four years now and we have been so lucky to have such a wonderful team of fantastic people caring for her. As soon as you walk through the doors, the atmosphere is so happy and friendly, all the staff are truly amazing and go above and beyond to make sure that mum is loved, happy and always smiling! The activities team provide the most amazing activities every day which she loves, they understand her dementia and know how she is feeling which is so important to us. The kitchen staff provide such wonderful, delicious food and make the most amazing birthday cakes which always make the residents smile! I can't thank everyone enough from the carers, who kindly look after mum and let me know regularly how she is doing, to the maintenance man who cheers everyone up every day and drives the minibus for wonderful days out to the receptionists who mum loves to have a natter with! Last but not least the amazing Manager, Michelle who is always there for everyone making this a very special place, and as she said to us its mum's home which couldn't have summed it up better! My mother has been in Leeming Bar Grange for a few months now . The staff are amazingly kind, competent , patient and caring. I am very impressed at the variety of activities arranged . The excercise classes , held 3 times a week, show a commitment to the long term health of the residents . The range of daily home cooked food is wonderful. I dreaded my mother ever needing a care home but Leeming Bar Grange has exceeded all my expectations and I know we could not have found a better place for Mum .

My mother has been in Leeming Grange Dementia home for four years so I feel I am quite knowledgeable about the care in this home. I think all the staff are very special and I have always seen the residents well looked after and the staff really care about the residents always helping them talking laughing and cuddling them which is lovely to see. The activities are great always something going on and the residents love the singers coming in. There is also animals taken in and the residents love handling them. The staff are great and have become friends of mine. Considering the very difficult task of looking after 60 people with various stages of dementia I think all the staff do their very best. I would definitely recommend anyone to admit their loved one into Leeming Grange as I have done and I would NOT have my mother anywhere that I thought was not good enough.
