Barchester Healthcare Wadhurst Manor Care Home

I have come recently for work experience, great staff and care! I would definitely recommend as a place to work or live for the elderly. It is very clean, everyone is polite and the residents are always included and entertained :)

I am so grateful for care of a much loved colleague and friend at Wadhurst Manor Nursing home for these last few years. ( I have visited many nursing homes caring for those with Dementia, also hospice so am practised at noticing whether the stated aims are lived in practice). I can say that I really felt that the care was special, and my last visit , a farewell , knowing death was imminent , was made less hard knowing I could trust that this important stage in life was truly respected. I have also been able to receive regular accurate updates from patient staff even whilst so busy, thank you so much all .

We chose Wadhurst Manor for Respite care for my mother-in-law having had a wonderful visit meeting many of the kind and caring staff and residents. We knew it was the perfect fit for her. Catalan visited my mother in law in her own home To find out a little bit more about her and what she wanted to do when she got there. He asked about her interests, What did she like to do and what kind of food she like to eat? The check-in process there was really straightforward. She was met and greeted by the manager on duty and various members of staff who quickly whisked her away to show her around While I unpacked her suitcase and put things away. She stayed for two weeks and when I picked her up, she had nothing but praise. She enjoyed meeting like-minded people, enjoyed the activities and the trips out but also appreciated a large room and quiet times where she could disappear off and watch television or read on her own. She self medicated so we did not have to rely on the staff to assist her with that but she does Need prompting to take them and also with personal dressing which they took care of. We would have no hesitation in recommending Wadhurst Manor.

The management and staff at Wadhurst Manor came to our rescue when we urgently needed help to look after my lovely father. They were all so kind and helpful from the minute I picked up the phone to them (even coming with a special vehicle to collect him from home the next day) and this continued until he sadly passed away a few months ago. Initially we thought my father would stay for a couple of weeks respite, but it became clear that the 24/7 nursing care he was receiving was top notch and the best option for him and our mother (rather than carers coming in at home), and his stay became permanent. Although we visited extensively almost everyday, we were never made to feel like we were in the way and always made welcome. My father loved being taken outside and seeing all the bunnies, birds and occasional deer in the garden. Together we enjoyed the delicious home baked cakes offered at afternoon tea. It is a very well managed home with a real sense of caring and professionalism at its heart. I strongly recommend it.

Welcoming relaxed atmosphere and a pleasant garden front and rear, Wadhurst Manor is a very beautiful and a great care home. The staff interact with the residents making the residents feel valued. The management also take time to try and understand what the residents likes and dislikes. The Nursing, dining, activities, housekeeping, maintenance and professional team all are attentive and caring too. Staff are always polite and very helpful, The manager is always on hand to answer any questions, issues that may arise as are the care staff. The manager is always on hand to support her team and the residents.
