The care from all members of this team was exemplary. We couldn't have wished for better. Nothing was too much trouble and every request was carried out willingly with a smile. The compassion and gentleness they displayed to our brother at all times in his final weeks we have not seen before. He was made to feel so welcome and he was surprised how quickly he settled into the new environment and told us often how safe, secure and happy he felt. We will always be grateful to Orangery Care Home. Thank you.

Mum (Anita) was moved into the home for palliative care on January 7th and passed peacefully on January 15th. Although we only experienced the home for 8 days we couldn’t have been more content as a family. The gentle care Mum received by all the staff was excellent, and she always look comfortable. The whole team were great and we thank them all for the support and kindness to Mum and us all. Mum’s needs were met in every way.

Susan. My dear uncle received excellent palletive care at The Orangery. All nurses showed love & respect to my dear uncle & me. My uncle was able to be reunited with his beloved dog before he went to heaven. Uncle room overooked the garden full of light such an improvement from his days in hospital with no view. A Big Thank You to The Orangery & all staff including the caring lady on reception.

It’s never easy admitting that your loved one needs more help than you can give and that it’s in their best interests to be in a care home. After a disastrous attempt at care at home following her return from yet another hospital stay, we were grateful Mum was offered respite care at The Orangery while her case was assessed. Admittedly she’s only been there just over a month, but signs are very good. The first thing that struck me was how empathic and caring the staff were. Nothing seems to be too much trouble and they’re always pleased to see you, no matter what time you arrive. Dafinka, the Manager, runs a tight ship and ensures the residents’ needs are met in a timely manner. It was lovely to see annual events celebrated throughout the home – especially Halloween, Divali and Remembrance Day. We’re looking forward to what’s in store for Christmas. Mum has gone from being a recluse, whose life revolved around her TV, to engaging in daily activities and socialising with other residents. She is kept clean and tidy and has even been given a manicure and nail polish by one of the carers. She is diabetic and after years struggling to stabilise her blood sugars, they are finally lowering as she is on a carefully monitored diet. That’s not to say she goes without though! She was delighted to find she was allowed dessert – such as diabetic ice cream – and is enjoying 3 course dinners and cooked breakfasts. We are hopeful that Mum can remain with The Orangery and continue to be cared for by the team there.
