What people say about Applecroft

Highlighting top-rated reviews

My husband John arrived at Applecroft from hospital after treatment for a chest infection and other illnesses including dementia, in hospital he became un-cooperative, stopped walking, and his dementia got worse, and he had a 24hour mental nurse. At Applecroft the atmosphere was quiet and peaceful and he received nothing but kindness and consideration. He started walking again and the 24 hr watch was removed. He got taken outside and felt the fresh air and sunshine after 6 weeks in hospital. The next 6 weeks at Applecroft he was cared for by all members of staff with kindness and respect. I was made most welcome on my visits and spent quality time with my husband joining in several of their musical afternoons, unfortunately, Johns health declined and he died peacefully in his sleep. I shall be for ever grateful to all the staff at Applecroft for their dedication and care of my husband during the last few weeks of his life.

My Sister-in-Law was a resident of Applecroft, I can never thank the staff enough for their support, their kindness & love they showed her during her time there. She had both dementia & MND and to provide her with the best possible support & care was extremely demanding. The nursing staff were always there for her & nothing was too much trouble caring for her. The staff were always kind & supportive even tho’ they were working very hard & closely with all their residents. The Home was always clean, organised whenever I visited. The food was excellent, varied & well cooked & well presented throughout the day to the residents. I cannot recommend this Home enough for its professional expertise in their love, their support & care for the well being of all their residents, thank you to everyone involved at this Home.

What a wonderful caring home. At first we were a little worried as there had been 2 reviews posted that were negative. How wrong were we. We were so pleased we decided to make our own judgement. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble. My Dad was cared for with so much compassion, kindness and love. This maybe a job to some people but all who my Dad came into contact with went above and beyond. My Dad loves the outdoors they took him to the Abbey and into the gardens he used to lift his face to the sun and enjoy the feel on his face. They encouraged him to eat and drink and ensured he was clean and tidy. Thank you Applecroft Care home you made his last few weeks bearable. You also helped my Mum Vera through this sad and often daunting time.

My wife received excellent care from the staff in Discovery . They were all familiar with her needs and understood the complexities of Fronto temporal dementia. The care and love that she received is an example to other care facilities. The staff also showed similar care and support to family and friends. Thank you.
