What people say about Braintree Mews

Highlighting top-rated reviews
StarStarStarStarStar

The Mews is a very special place, designed and built by people who clearly understand the needs of older people and staffed by a dedicated group who genuinely seem to care for the residents. So many Care Homes are in adapted old buildings, often with cluttered spaces, making it difficult to move around, but the Mews is unique in that it has been purpose built. The home provides luxury accomodation. It is light and spacious; the rooms are beautiful;  the lounge areas are comfortable and well equipped; dining areas are intimate and elegantly decorated. But the thing that makes the Mews a cut above the rest are the friendly, caring people who work there. All are keen to help ...  from the cleaning staff to the management team. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. As a visitor you are made to feel very welcome. Braintree Mews is a place that needs to be visited in order to understand just what it is that makes it so special.

I came for a Christmas lunch with my Grandma + other family and we were very impressed. The home itself feels like a posh hotel and has clearly been designed with comfort and quality of life in mind. The rooms are stylish, cosy and neutral (perfect for residents to decorate, as they please, to feel at home). I liked how residents are encouraged to bring things related to their interests and hobbies. The food was uncomplicated and tasty, the private dining room was very elegant, and all the staff we met were very friendly and accomodating. We had a look around and saw the salon, cinema room, cafe with fresh cakes, bathroom and therapy room and learnt about the many different activities residents can participate in if they wish. There were also lots of cosy areas, for example, if a resident wanted to sit and chat with others or just relax with a book. All in all, we had a lovely time and will hopefully visit again sometime soon! :)
