What people say about Elvy Court

My father in law has been in the care of this home for nearly three years. During the last year he is now unable to eat solids. The staff hand feed him for all meals. The care given in such a demanding environment is excellent. New equipment was purchased to meet his needs. Privacy and dignity are given by staff. During a recent crisis the staff supported the whole family when visiting the home. T

What can I say about this nursing home! Everything positive. It has taken me since August 22 to write anything. My dad came to this nursing home after every home rejected him due to their upcoming CMS. He had a stroke which made him disabled (unable to walk). He was peg fed, dementia and an untreatable bedsore. His speech was limited due to the stroke. They even allowed us to have a Komp system in his room for us to communicate with him 24/7 but we made sure family did not ring after 8:30 pm as residence were resting. The care my dad got was beyond anything I could give him. There was a dr who visited twice a week and constant regular nurse checks. The nurses would keep you up to dated if there were any concerns. The staff were jolly and caring and the bedsore he came in with disappeared due to the work and support they gave my dad. They would come in and clean his mouth as well as check on him to see if he wasn’t sitting in any soil. The male manager was so amazing, he was on top of everything. He would work day and night supporting his staff and patients. Even the kitchen staff would come out of the kitchens to speak to the patients. It was more like a family rather than a home. The patients were entertained regularly and they were happy. The cleanness of the home was spotless. Everything was cleaned daily and the communal areas were available to everyone to use. We were very lucky to be able to have a little birthday party for him at the home. When my dad passed and we had the funeral, we had 4 members of staff from the home attending his funeral which really touched my heart. This said to me, he was not just another number but a human being who was loved.

I go to Sing at Elvy Court Care Home once a month. All of the Staff are very friendly & always there to help the residents & their visitors. They also interact well with the residents. The home is always presented nicely and very clean. They always seem organised and very approachable. I always enjoy going there. Keep up the good work Elvy!!

I recently visited Elvy Court Care Home with my partner Sue to support their coffee morning. Both of us have lost partners and have experience of carehomes. It was great to find Elvy Court so open and welcoming and interacting with residents and visitors alike. The bright comfortable lounge room was excellent and allowed conversation between everyone. The raffle with a considerable number of prizes donated from local businesses and families kept the fun going and raised funds for cancer charity. It was a very good event and made a lasting impression.
