Warren Lodge Care Home

At the beginning of this year it became apparent that my 93-year-old father was no longer able to continue caring for my stepmother who had had a stroke two years prior. She moved into a local care home but did not settle well. Having looked at several homes in the area, none compared with the warmth and understanding shown to us by the manager and staff at Warren Lodge. They took the time to listen and understand the needs of my stepmother, and the deputy manager spent much time liaising with other medical staff to ensure that she settled better this time. We were always warmly welcomed, and encouraged to visit as often, and at any time we wished, and to join in the many various activities provided. Sadly, my stepmother was only at Warren Lodge a few weeks when she had a sudden seizure from which she did not regain consciousness. With the help of the home, it was decided that rather than be hospitalised she would return to Warren Lodge for her final days. During this time, the staff provided attentive, compassionate round the clock end of life care always treating my stepmother with dignity and respect. They also gave incredible comfort and support to my father at her bedside, providing him with lunch and even sandwiches to take home for his supper. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff and we cannot thank them enough. Truly they are a first class team.

My husband and I have been residents in Warren Lodge for 2 and a half year and feel lucky to be cared for in such a lovely home. We both have comfortable en suit rooms which are thoroughly cleaned every day. Rooms can be furnished as personally as one wishes. All staff are kind, helpful and try to fulfil every wish. We have regular entertainment and activities with children and dogs are always welcome. The gardens are extensive and beautiful kept. We are often visited by wild life such as deer, foxes and pheasants and also a duck who hatched 10 little chicks in a flower bed. Relatives are kept well informed of all activities and etc. Rooms and building are tastefully decorated and are continually being updated. The home has top ratings 10 out of 10 for a reason and I feel this home must be top of the list in the area of the country.

The whole idea of moving my Mum into a care home was daunting. We visited many and none felt right. From the moment we walked into Warren Lodge we knew we had found the right place. The warmth, professionalism and genuine compassion was evident immediately. My Mum was made to feel at home with staff taking time to know her interests, routines and the little things that make her smile. The care home manager, Goce, is always welcoming, approachable, and attentive. He demands the highest standards of care. Warren Lodge is always spotless, well maintained, and welcoming. Mum enjoys the food every day. There are lots of activities ensuring the residents are stimulated socially, mentally and physically. There are regular events where families can come along and join in. Warren Lodge has an atmosphere of genuine kindness. I know that Mum is very happy and as a family we have total peace of mind knowing she is safe, happy and very well cared for.

Warren Lodge is simply the best care home you could possibly find. I have experience of two care homes that my Mum was at, and five that I went to see for my Dad. Warren Lodge, the manager and the team, immediately stood out and has been beyond hopes and expectations. I'm my eulogy at my father's funeral I stated that Goce (the manager) is a pearl of a human being who creates the most amazing and loving atmosphere. The staff are all equally brilliant. They create happy times, memories and genuinely do care for the residents. I have discovered some of the greatest souls there and made many great friends among the staff. Upon my father's passing, there were tears from both staff and some residents alike. I have told several people, when looking around, that if they choose Warren Lodge they will not be disappointed.

My Mum has been a resident of Warren Lodge since September 2024 following the death of my Father. It was very hard for my brother and I to make the decision to move our Mum to a care home even though we knew it was the best thing for her. I can not praise all the staff at Warren lodge highly enough, from our first visit we were made to feel welcome. They were patient and understanding of all our questions and stressed that their goal is to be 'home' for their residents. The atmosphere is always warm and inviting and it really does feel like home. We know that our Mum is getting the best care, she is well looked after and we have no doubt that we made the right decision. Thank you Goce and all at Warren Lodge for making this transition so seamless and caring.
